The temperature has been boiling hot the past few days. You cant step outside your house without feeling like you're entering a sauna.
I dread sitting inside cars these days. The first few minutes, until the a/c starts blasting cool air into your face is agony. Cars with leather seats are especially vicious, if your bare skin happens to touch a heated seat. They burn! I know from first hand experience.
Southern Illinois is going through a major heatwave. With the temperatures continuing to soar 10-12 degrees above their averages, just five minutes outside is enough to sap you completely.
A heat advisory is in effect until Thursday, since the heat and humidity may create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
