Staining Coffee Tables

Today was about experiments in staining woodwork.
Nanu and I have never done this before and decided it was time to take the plunge.
We took two old coffee tables, and sanded, stained and applied a semi-gloss, polyurethane sealant coat. It wasnt nearly as hard as I thought it'd be! It was nice working outside on our porch on a breezy, sunny day like this.
Since we chose a nice mahogany red stain it looks pretty rich. Of course the irritating part was waiting for the stain to dry and then reapplying it and now waiting for the semi-gloss finish to dry.
We took a much needed break from all the work. Can you see Pico on the far right? :)
Our tables are now drying outside on our porch. I plan to bring them in by tomorrow afternoon, when they will be dry and ready to use!
