Feature: Autism and Children - The Long Road Home

Writing this story was an interesting, albeit challenging experience.

While there are innumerable treatments out there for autism - all claiming varying degrees of efficacy - very few are validated by scientific research.

I spoke to experts in the field who provide different kinds of therapy for autistic children.

Then I spoke to a mother who has two autistic boys.

I spoke to a chiropractor who gives spinal adjustments to all her patients, including some autistic kids.

I spoke to a spunky 18-year-old girl who felt she had to do something to raise awareness about the developmental disability.

The end result was a pretty interesting mish-mash of what is out there.

This story is available in text format right here.
